Analog rv battery monitor11/23/2023 If you put the 18650 in the wrong way around it could destroy it. Sometimes in the factory the + and - are reversed. Never fully trust the screen printing on any of these battery shields. I’m not sure connecting through the 3 v will be enough to power it and anything else you like a sensor I power my wemos from one of the 5v outputs on the battery shield to the 5v terminal of the wemos. You may need a different multiplication factor. I then using the filter multiply it by 5.1817 so the sensor on Home assistant When the voltage measured by voltmeter across the 18650 is 4.2v the wemos gets 0.868v. Anytone Mobile Radios Digital DMR & Analog, Tri Band, Commercial, Mobile Powerwerx Mobile Radios Commercial, Dual Band, Mobile, VHF/UHF, Base Station, Accessories. The shield has over charging and low voltage protection to stop the 18650 going boom. ![]() My solar panel connects to the usb port on the battery shield. If you use breadboards then you will understand the idea of a + and - rail, otherwise this may be confusing. I have this all on a circuit board so can connect many things to the ground rail. ![]() You will have to connect 2 wires then to the Ground terminal on the wemos to power it (my white and your black). I have not shown how you by your red and black wires power the wemos. The other end of this wire connects to the ground terminal on the wemos. The white wire connects to the - pad at the back of the metal strip in contact with the back or - terminal. The blue wire then connects to the 200k resistor and the other side of the resistor connects to A0. I can see that on your board just behind the usb port. The Blue wire connects to the metal strip that in in direct contact with the back of the 18650. It display the current battery capacity by power pencentage value and 10 LED progress bars. Parts can be connected in series, without optocouplers or isolators, to allow the monitoring of every cell in a long. RL-BI025 Digital multifunctional battery power indicator is a device to monitor how much battery have left during charge or discharge situtation, record the total running hours and maintenance hours of DC powered equipment. so by adding in 220K resistor there is never >1V across the A0 pin and so it won’t be damaged. Analog Devices’ family of multicell, high voltage battery stack monitors are complete battery monitoring ICs that include 16-bit ADCs, precision voltage references, a high voltage input multiplexer, and a serial interface. The wemos also has a large resistor built in for A0 pin. ![]() When RVing off-grid with solar it’s critical to have accurate data about the status of your battery bank such as: The State-Of-Charge (SOC) as a percentage available (e.g. The A0 pin on the Wemos can only measure voltage up to 1V (higher voltage will damage it). A battery monitoring system functions like a fuel gauge for your RV’s battery bank. The outputs for the shield is 3V or possibly 3.3v and 5v, which is regulated. The max voltage of it is 4.2V when fully charged even though the battery is meant to be 3.7V. ![]() The wires connected are just for monitoring the 18650 voltage. That's a project for down the road.I’ve made the pic simpler. I have to get it working first and make sure I'm happy with it before I drop the underbelly and drill a big hole. I'm contemplating relocating it at some point to inside the trailer, likely above the main controller panel in the cabinet. Even though the shunt is mounted right above the monitor on the back side of the control partition, the full length of wire is bundled up behind the partition. It does look like it might not be too difficult to swap out battery monitor and shunt for a Victron battery monitor with bluetooth if your neighbor wants to monitor what is going in or out of their battery via a smart phone app. I don't see any mention of bluetooth in the controller manual. I don't believe the Furrion MPPT charge controllers have any Bluetooth capability. Anyone know if there is a Bluetooth Adapter and App for the Furrion MPPT?While I don't think this is related to this thread on the Battery Monitor.
